The Trudeau Liberals have an enormous environmental PR problem on their hands.
For instance, there is a huge cargo ship festooned with festering filthy Canadian junk chugging back to Canada.
You see, this garbage was originally destined for the Philippines until that nation rightfully told Canada they weren’t going to take it anymore.
But just as this lurid cargo steams ever closer to Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Environment Minister Catherine McKenna are desperate for an environmental win. They’re all about “Sunny Ways”, after all…
So, faster than you can say, “Anchors Aweigh!” this dynamic duo cooked up what they believe to be a big assist for planet Earth: they’re going to put a ban on single-use plastics.
That’s right: straws, plastic cutlery, stir sticks, plastic bags… You name it, they’re going to ban it. And to heck with the needs of many constituents that need such material.
It looks like the Liberals are hellbent on further making our lives miserable by declaring war on fast-food packaging and supermarket bags — and the ban could take effect as early as 2021!
But is there any science behind this? Of course not, unless you call virtue-signalling a science, in which case Justin and Climate Barbie are geniuses of Einsteinian proportions.
As per usual, if you think the left is leading by example, you have another thing coming. My colleague, Sheila Gunn Reid, revealed in 2017 that the Trudeau clan was spending some $300 per month on bottled water — $300!
But in fairness, that was then and this is now, because he’s doing his best to cut back.
Typical Liberal behaviour, isn’t it?
Tax and ban, ban and tax, all delivered via the double-standard mantra of, “do as I say, not as I do.”
Well, like us, if you’re fed up of Trudeau’s sanctimonious and hypocritical behaviour, please sign our petition demanding the immediate reversal of this ridiculous policy.
Let’s send a message to our plastic prime minister — because enough is enough!
